Businessman Hon. Fred Orando (alias Nyakundi) who runs a series of construction companies and other key small businesses in Kaptembwo ward has so far publicly announced a run for Member of County Assembly ( MCA) for Kaptembwo ward in polls due on August 9, 2022.
He has put “security and economic reform” at the heart of his pitch as he wants to get Kaptembwo ward back on its feet by reviving the crisis-hit economy, as he explains to Nakuru Times in an interview at Egerton Radio studio.
“We need to have an urgent plan for positive economic reform in Kaptembwa ward which injects the largest percentage of revenue to Nakuru County as we encourage the private sector,” Hon Orando.
He further says regaining the public’s trust in the leadership he aspires to be, meant that corruption and red tape will be eradicated and that the playing field for businesses will be levelled.
Orando is also pushing for easily accessible and affordable loans and grants to tide unemployed residents of Kaptembwa ward.
“Retaining and the skills-matching program will also be launched by the grassroots government if elected an MCA with a public employment program targeting over a thousand unemployed youth will also be launched under my watch,” he added.
He simplified it by naming the drivers of the economy which will now base on the improved education sector, talents and innovation, science and technology and economic boost, especially to small businesses.
Fred Nyakundi will be vying under United Democratic Alliance ( UDA) which he believes has transparency and common goodwill to Kenyans.
